The Sophia Library

The Sophia Library is a public feminist library of around 3000 items, including books, DVDs and CDs. Subject areas include: feminist theology, spiritual life, meditation and ritual, contemporary social issues and women’s health, psychology and world religions. We also have fiction, art books, poetry and biography with a growing focus on First Nations writing.

Membership is open to the general public and current financial members of Sophia.

The library has an email address, library@sophia.org.au, and if you wish to find out if it carries a particular book, please email your request. A volunteer will get back to you as soon as possible.

Our guest this year is Mij Tanith.
Mij is a dedicated advocate for refugees and author of Laila’s Story, a book about the experiences of a family of refugees settling in Adelaide. She has also written plays, short stories and articles, taught creative writing, been a writer in residence and organised literary events.
Bring a favourite book to share and enjoy a delicious afternoon tea.

Pop-Up Book Sale

There is usually a pop-up book sale in the main Sophia meeting room. Items are $2 each and are changed every few weeks.
